Yes, I know I like weird things, but seriously, Mung Bean Shakes are delicious! I’m not alone in this sentiment either: Green Bean Shake Love Story. Last night we ate dinner at the Vietnamese restaurant in town again. I wanted another Red Bean shake, but they were out and suggested I have mung bean instead. I said yes and I wasn’t disappointed. While not as flavorful (to me, anyhow) as the red bean shake, which I think has a slight chocolate taste, the mung bean shake was pretty similar. Next time I think I’m going to go for the avocado shake, as I’ve recently taken a “taste bud interest” in avocadoes (see my blog post about avocado ice cream).

These types of shakes are easy to make because they use coconut milk. Just puree up your fruit or bean and mix with the coconut milk. Did you know you can make shakes in the Ice Cream Ball? Well, you can! Just add the shake mixture like you would normally do for ice cream into the cyclinder. FIll the other end with ice and salt. Now, because it’s a shake and not meant to be fully frozen, you don’t have to shake it as long — meaning you’ll have more energy to make another round of shakes sooner!
